Rating: - Pricey and actually made my eyes hurt more
To start, I have no doubt that many people find this lamp reduces eye strain and makes working at a desk more comfortable.

That said, this lamp actually makes my eyes and head hurt even more. It may be due to the lighting in my office; something about that lighting interacts with the light from the lamp. The light in my office is a combination of incandescent and fluorescent. If you have that combination in your office, this light may not be for you.

Purchased this lamp December 2007 from Amazon.com.It stopped working January 2009.Verilux honored the three year warranty, first by replacing the bulb (not the problem), then sending a new lamp.Defective one returned in the packaging that came with the new one.Impressed with the prompt customer service and have enjoyed the quality of the light.

Happen to me too, both my lamps failed to operate within 6 months. Have an original
bought from a retail store which has outlasted these two by a long time. Hardware Sales does not
ship in original boxes. Must be returned defective merchandise being sold for a low price. Not
worth a penny if it does not work. Buy straight from amazon.com and pay the $79.95 for factory
new items.

Strange that 2 lamps and only 2 bought from Hardware Sales BOTH failed within
six months. They did not ship in original boxes but plastic wrapped. Must be
selling returns?
