- So far so good
I've had this item for about a month; I took a chance on another Rowenta even though a less expensive model died after only a few years of service. But since that may have been due to it being dropped a couple of times, I gave Rowenta the benefit of the doubt, and bought this one because I really wanted more professional ironing ability. So far it has been a delight and I especially love the pointy front that gets into those hard to iron places on shirts and pants. It does go through the water ... - Dangerous Iron - WARNING
I've had this iron a little over a year and up until one incident was completely satisfied with it.One day last week after ironing, all of a sudden the iron started smoking profusely. The iron started to burn and melt - it was a miracle that I was not injured.Rowenta customer support stated they had never had this problem reported before (of course not!), and the best they can do was to send me a $15 gift certificate towards a new iron.I don't feel comfortable using them again, especially ... - All that steam creates a problem
This iron is terrific. Feels heavy and sure in the hand and supplies plenty of steam. Just one problem. Finally, I found out all that wonderful steam was accumulating in the cover of the ironing board and dripping onto the floor. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way - or other type of Rowenta ironing board cover - to ... Read More

The Rowenta DZ5080 Focus Stainless-Steel 1700-Watt Iron is fantastic!I only have to press once-over clothes and it presses the wrinkles out...unlike the previous iron I had where I had to iron back and forth several times.Plenty of steam...just wish I did not have to re-fill water so often.
