I bought this blender because I could not take my Cusinart Blender CBT500 which was so loud I used construction head phones to prevent being deafened.
The Krups is much quieter and it crushes ice beautifully and makes smoothies smooth, so I disagree with negative reviews in that regard.
The ring assembly was designed so one can clean it easily separate the parts for daily cleaning.This was an excellent concept as other blenders are too difficult to clean and often cause ... Read More

This is a very well made blender with lots of power. The reviewers who state this doesn't blend well for lack of power.....they must be reviewing a different blender. It has plenty of power.
This has been a pleasure to use because of the quietness factor also.I cannot imagine using an appliance in our kitchen that sounds like a jet airplane. Krups has done a professional job in bringing a competent appliance in a good looking package to our kitchens.

As other reviewers mentioned, I was a bit leary about this product after reading the negative reviews, but took a chance anyway.Much to my delight, this is exactly what I was hoping for...a (relatively) quiet blender, with enough power to blend a fruit enhanced protein shake without shutting down 2 or 3 times in the process.I can understand why those who had trouble assembling the base/blade assembly to the jar, could not do so regardless of effort.As the instructions say, there is only two positions ... I am so thoroughly disgusted with this piece of junk.The bottom will not stay on.The reviewer who said you just didn't lock it into place must have bionic arms.I stood there grunting and twisting and crying while trying to get this assembled.Yes, I slid the locking ring on and made sure it fits into the grooves.It will do a slight twist and no matter how much bulging biceps and grunting I do, it will not finish twisting and locking.I have never been able to use it, so that is the biggest waste of ... I just recieved my blender today and immediately put it to use. I like the heavy glass and base. It blended perfectly and the directions were simple and easy to follow. I can see why some have had problems with spills...you must carefully screw the base onto the glass jar. If you cross thread then you run the risk of spills. It was very quiet on the slowest setting, ice blended perfectly as did forzen fruit. I love it so far but of course it is only the first use! Well worth the money.
