- ADVC110
I don't have any knowledge of other products to compare this item to, but I will say that the ADVC110 has done exactly what it said it would do. I needed an analog to digital converter to get some old 8mm tapes to digital. I've read about products that have sync problems with audio and video, but the sync with audio and video has been flawless. I use Mac and Mac likes Firewire which makes this a great choice for Mac.

- Who ships a product without a power adapter???
Unless your computer has 6-pin Firewire (Firewire 400) or you have a 9-pin to 6-pin Firewire cable, you'll need the OPTIONAL power adapter for the ADVC110, about $40 currently on Amazon. My computer only has 9-pin (Firewire 800) and I already had a 9-pin to 4-pin cable, so I'm sunk without the power adapter. My ADVC110 arrived today, but unfortunately I can't use it and have to wait 6-10 days for the power adapter to ship. That's annoying.Seriously, who ships an electronic product without a ... - Very easy to use. Great quality conversion
So far I have converted about 6 hours of VHS to my Windows Vista PC.The tapes are 17 years old and the quality of the converted video is much better than if you watch the tapes on a VCR.I had a little trouble figuring out which program on my computer to use to do the capture and settled on the Windows Import Video app.I have had absolutely no problems with audio/video syncing.Overall very pleased with this converter.

- Awesome
I got my digital converter a couple weeks ago and have been on FIRE converting my old VHS tapes to DVD through imovie on my mac. It does everything it says it does, and it is totally worth shelling out the big bucks. I don't typically write reviews, but I love this little thing.
