I have looked at a lot of lamps, some more expensive and some less and this is about as good as it gets.The quality of this lamp is tops and in our opinions the light excellent.I would give it 5 star if the top could pull further over the user.Our light has to set behind the chair and not by the side of it, so this lack of adjustability is not important in every situation.It was also a little ackward having to reach up and behind one's head to turn it off/on.So we got a Wood's remote controle ... I purchased this as a reading lamp for my 75 year old Mother and it's PERFECT!The light tremendously helped her eyesight and made reading enjoyable again.The light therapy benefit is an additional PLUS!The style goes nicely with our traditional decor and is very high quality.

By leaving every light in the living quarters on I could barely read. With this Veriluxe lamp I have no problem using only seventeen watts of power. It was easily assemblied, Very heavy base so it's secure. Easy adjustable for best lighting. With three position switch I can turn down for better TV viewing and less glare. I RANK IT NUMBER ONE.
