- Cheap can still be good!
I bought my Canon MP530 all in one printer/scanner/FAX/copier for a little over $100.00 brand new. The thing is great and incredibly easy to figure out how to use. The initial setup is a little trick so FOLLOW THE DIRECTION TO THE T. Text prints really fast and the scan quality of images is pretty good. There's even some auto correction features you can click on in real time while previewing a scan. I've had it for almost 2 years and I've only replaced the color cartridges twice and the black about ... Read More

I've owned this printer for about 1 1/2 years.Worked great for that period of time.Recently received an error message.Much research on the error message, but it appears the main drive belt the ink slides on has been stretched out so it doesn't work any longer.Kind of a bummer after only 1 1/2 years. . .

It seems as though many people have had luck with this printer, I guess I was one of the unlucky ones.
In approximately a month after purchase, there was a plastic grinding noise that really didn't affect the print quality, but was extremely loud; others have had this problem, I found.
After about a year of dealing with that obnoxious noise, I was repeatedly told that one of my ink tanks was installed incorrectly (XP told me that there were two Cyan cartridges installed).... Read More

This printer worked fine for about a year.But every time it cleans the print head it dumps about 5 print pages worth of ink into an inaccessible receptacle in the chassis.So when the receptacle is full, one of the bottom rollers picks up the ink, painting a big black stripe on the back of each page.And after you use the bottom cleaning function, it immediately dumps more ink, filling it up again!This is deliberate, malicious built-in sabotage, forcing you to buy a new machine.A repair shop ... What an amazing machine.
Pros:
Well built, 5 ink cartridges (change only what you need), AIO function, duplexing (2 side printing), 2 paper trays (can load different paper types on each tray) and color copy.
Cons:
It is not wireless or network-ready (but for this price, what did you expect?).
