These utensils are a godsend. Especially the one for lifting hot jars out of the water.

If you are a beginning canner you might need some of these pieces.I like the jar holder and the tongs.I have also used the colander but the other items were not needed.The magnetic pieces do not work in the water where I tried to use them, and the plunger air remover wasn't needed, I just rattled the jar to remove air.
