SOG Assisted Technology for Speed and Safety
Fast, safe, one-handed opening makes SOG Flash Series knives incredibly easy to handle in a wide variety of situations. Once you start opening the knife, SOG's Patented SOG Assisted Technology, or S.A.T., takes over. Through the balance of opposing high-tension coil springs in the knife, the force to propel the knife open becomes greater than the closing force, and the blade will open on its own. This unique feature means that if you are using your dominant hand on another task, you can just as easily open the FSA-8 with your other hand.
For security and peace of mind, S.A.T. was developed in conjunction with a superior locking system. The unique design of S.A.T. knives allows them to use locking mechanisms that are stronger, more reliable, and easier to access ambidextrously than conventional liner locks.

This is the first high quality knife i have owned.One of the main features i was looking for when purchasing a knife was the spring assisted opening mechanism.This feature is very, very cool.I cant imagine purchasing another knife without spring assisted opening.
I have had this knife for about two years, and no longer carry it on a day to day basis.This knife was a little bit bigger than expected.Especially living in California, i felt like i was carrying around an illegal ... Read More

So I'll throw my review out here.I've been carrying the knife for a few months now, and I'm very happy with it.I've had the typical issues that seem to crop up with this knife.The belt clip can get a little loose and it does crack the handle, but I tightened it up and stopped carrying it in my pocket (it rides in my Maxpedition Jumbo).I also had some sideways play in the blade and again tightening the thing worked well.
The blade deploys quickly, but you need to "follow through". ... Read More

So like, I got this knife, and within a couple of minutes using it accidentally cut my finger pretty bad. DAMN this thing's sharp! I know i'm a complete incompetent tool for doing so but the sheer ability of the blade surprised me.
Very, very lightweight for it's size. We're looking at a 3.5 inch blade but it's much smaller. Feels like a hollow piece of plastic almost. But as I already said the blade is very functional.

I recently chose a Kershaw Skyline over the SOG Flash II.For less money, the Kershaw is about half the thickness, yet the blade is of comparable size.The simplistic design of the Kershaw does not have latches, springs, and safeties to fail.I will say that the SOG has the superior deep carry belt clip.

I'm not really into knives...I lost my smaller folder & was looking to upgrade to a bigger,better knife.I don't know alot about knives...but I do know a quality product when I see one. This knife is quality. Just recieved knife yesterday. Sharp right out of the box, light weight & a really good,sturdy clip attached. A great buy!
