Prepare beef stroganoff or a zesty gumbo in this versatile 3-1/2-quart covered casserole. From Rachael Ray's new line of cookware, the casserole's oval form fits neatly on stovetops, while the construction adapts for oven use with ease. The casserole features cast-iron construction that deftly resists warping and breakage, while ensuring superb heat retention and even heat distribution. Porcelain enamel coats the cast iron, eliminating the need for pre-seasoning along the casserole's interior. To transport contents to and fro, the casserole proffers two loop handles cast to the oval's short sides. The fitted cast-iron lid contains flavor and heat for more efficient and tasty cooking. A top-mounted knob aids in easy lid removal. For the best care, allow the casserole to cool before washing it by hand. Avoid abrasive scrubbing pads and harsh cleansers to preserve the casserole's enamel. Dry immediately to prevent corrosion. A limited lifetime warranty covers the China-made casserole. The casserole measures 17-1/3 by 10-3/4 by 6-2/3 inches and weighs 16.2 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

- The Best Cast Iron Casserole dish ever!
I purchased this item for my newlywed daughter, and she just loves it!The size is perfect for a whole roasted chicken with vegetables, and clean up is simple! The quality is excellent, it is a very sturdy pan, and the blue coating over the cast iron is very thick.

- Great Size--whenbraising for two!
This pot is perfect for cooking for two.Smaller quantities of stews and braises fit nicely into this pot.The pot seems to be well made and durable and certainly cheaper than the well known brands.

- I love this pot
I love this pot. I have made everything from soups, chowders, roasts, sauces, etc. It has even heat and is so easy to clean. No scrubbing is needed. Just soak for a few minutes and thats it. The only problem I have had is that the inside bottom is quite stained but I think it's because I use it so often cooking with red wines, etc.
It is the perfect size to cook for 4-6 people.
I have used this both for stovetop and oven. I say one review where it was said they were afraid ... Read More

- A prettycasserole, in need of improvement!
These "made in China" casseroles are pretty, and similar to Le Creuset in appearance, enamel over cast iron, however people are noticing the enamel does not stand up well to heat, and it cracks. (See reviews on "Rachael Ray 3-1/2-Quart Cast-Iron Covered Round Casserole, Blue", and talk with people who handle returns at your dept. store.)
Additionally, the casserole has a cheap phenolic (plastic) handle on the top cover, which the manual says are "oven safe" ONLY up to 350 F temperature. ... Read More

- Pots are chipped in the box
We've returned two so have had a total of three of these and each one was chipped before removing it from the box.We have a large Le Creuset pot and haven't had any problems with chipped enamel. But the Rachael Ray pot is about 1/8th of the price. It's ok but the quality isn't great.
