This is a good product and the sound quality is superior to using similar products that connect to the headphone jacklI just wish the cable was a couple of feet longer.

I purchased this to plug into my iPod Touch 2nd Gen.Apple changed the configuration of the pins on the touch so it will not provide you with a line out signal.It does work with my 4th Gen iPod video though.

I'm using this cable in my car, as some reviews say the sound is much better than using a 3.5mm plug and the iPod batery lasts longer. It's a great option if you are going to use the cable in your car or at your stereo.
Once you plug the cable the volume is controlled by your stereo/car so your iPod batery lasts longer.
