I was having problems with dropped calls on our Vontage and spent some time trouble shooting.I replaced our modem with this new modem at a very reasonable cost and the problem is solved.

a short time ago i purchased a used but supposedly good Motorola Surfboard 5120 Cable Modem used/like new here at amazon market place from a affiliated seller,boy what a mistake DOA Outta the box so I ordered this new Motorola Surfboard 5101 and it works real strong 5 stars...

What do you want out of a cable modem? It works, sits there silently, doesn't interrupt asking for a drink or a popsicle, and does what it's supposed to do. Kind of like how you want your kid to behave, y'know? Stays out of jail, doesn't beg for money, or do drugs. Just goes to work every day and does everything I tell it to do.
I like the standby button on top. It's my quiet aggressive way of telling everyone it's time to shut down, and go to bed. I bought this to replace the exact ... Read More

This is a great modem.It has not lost signal at all in the last 3-4 months. You can plug this modem in and forget about ever resetting it!

I am a Comcast cable subscriber. I decided I was tired of spending $3 a month leasing a modem so I thought I'd buy my own. This modem works great with my Linksys router. I have had no connection drops yet in a month or so of usage.
