For clarification the non-paratrooper bags do not have a zippered main, nor zippered pockets under the main flap as described in Bill B's excellent review. Other than that the bag I received is essentially the same as he describes. Heavy duty and somewhat rugged.
First thing I did was give it the standard test and ran it through a heavy-duty wash cycle along with a full load of clothes, then tossed it in the dryer and let it ride.

I bought this bag for my girlfriend who did not want a backpack for her college books. It's a great bag, but what should be noted is that the black w/ red insignia is seen in the hands of Julia Stiles' character Kat Stratford in the 1999 film "10 Things I Hate About You"! If you MUST have a piece of 90's teen movie history (or a cheap yet good quality messenger bag), then this bag is for you!

I was looking for a good day bag for a trip overseas, and I couldnt have found a better quality bag for the price.It can carry a fairly high quantity of stuff, stands up to rain very well, and was comfortable to wear for 10-12 hours at a time.The only thing I wish this bag had would be a zipper for the main pouch, because I'm paranoid about my belongings getting lifted, but I can live without it.5/5, Great Product.

I bought this bag less than a year ago in the OLIVE color. It's a great bag for a college student who doesn't need to carry a lot of things across campus. I can only complain about two problems with this bag: 1. Parts of the bag have faded/changed color due to exposure to the sunlight 2. The strap adjuster slips, so the bag won't stay a certain length for a long time.
Overall, it's a great bag, and I would definately buy another one once this one gets older.
