- Great, but I have questions...
This is my first "real" espresso maker after the Krups machine we had for some years.Overall I'm very happy with it, but I have some questions (which are probably due to my lack of coffee making skills).
1) Some reviewers here talk about a pressurized vs an unpressurized basket. How does that effect the coffee and the crema, and which is preferred?

- Awesome machine, coffee and design
I think this machine it's great. It does all it's supposed to do. Rich consistent flavorful coffee, lots of crema and then the modern, sleek design... it looks great. This is a heavy machine with simple, elegant buttons. This is the Bose of expresso makers!

- I love my breville Ikon
I absolutely love my espresso machine. Lovely espresso, Quick, Stylish. Just do yourself a favor and get it. (I got refurbished one and it works perfectly for 7 months now.)
I don't usually write reviews but I had to do it for this one. :)

To make a long story short, no matter what type of espresso, how I grind it, or how hard it is pressed down in the basket, I get the same result. A quick black brew and then it immediately turns clear and watery, and yes this is a shot glass amount, no over watering. I am very disappointed and plan to return the ... Read More
