The Li7000-2WXVP MicroTalk radios utilize the UHF/FM band for ultra-clear, long-distance reception with an extended range capability that reaches up to 25 miles, depending upon the terrain. - horrible radio but an excellent paperweight
i do not have much experience with 2 way radios however i would expect at least the same dependability from them as you would obtain from a childrens set of walkie-talkies.purchased these in February, have total 1/2 hour or less talk time and most of that was so garbled we immediately went into troubleshooting mode. after spending another 2 hours trying to figure out (via owners manual, the cobra website, and various forums) i have found out whats wrong - these radios are junk.one of them works ... 25 miles is a stretch but 1-2 miles is more like it. The batteries do not last very long and are hard to find. Otherwise the product is quite functional and easy to use.

Purchased these before a grueling day long hike in Paradise CA. Worked well in steep terrain. Used them on the day long drive, car to car. Perfect pick when heading to an area with no cell reception.

Really i think, this is the best radio, best range, and best battery duration, but no. Its a normal walkie tolkie but whit more channels. not is a fantastic radio its a normal radio.

I am certainly not going to complain about these units since I am very pleased at their performance and size. All the features perform as advertised. I do like the scan feature and weather radio as well.
