- Another great use for silicone!
What a handy steamer! I don't go into Linens & Things very often, but was so glad I did the day I came across this wonderful steamer. It's wonderful!

- did have an odd taste
I tried my veggie steamer today for the first time, and like the one bad review, my vegetables did have a strange taste to them. However, the strange taste was very much like what Bed Bath and Beyond (where I bought the steamer) smells like when you walk in.. it's hard to describe. However, I have high hopes. It probably just needs a thorough boiling or run through the dishwasher before use to get rid of any odors it absorbed.I had only washed it by hand with soap before using it.

- Very useful item!
Very handy little gadget to have around the kitchen. I use mine every day to cook vegetables of all kinds. Unlike metal steamers, it's easy to clean, won't scratch coated pans, fits in almost any size pan, can be used in a microwave, and---a real plus!---I don't roast my fingers grabbing a boiling hot center post or metal rings to lift it out of the pan after cooking. Also, since there are no metal wings to bend or break loose, I think that this steamer will last a very long time.

- LOVE IT
This steamer rocks. It fits in my big pot if i want to steam something long.It fits in my smaller pots if I want to use them instead. The handles make it a breeze to work with, and also to let me hang it from my pot rack.It looks very nice and is EASY to clean.Unlike the only bad review here, I didn't have any strange tastes to my vegetables.I have to wonder if that person was maybe tasting fresh veggies for the first time?

- Taints veggies with strange taste
So much easier to clean than the old metal one we had, but we had to throw out the first three batches of veggies we steamed with it because they had an awful taste...makes you wonder what is leaching out of the product to taint the food....I'm almost afraid to keep trying with it...even though it seems that the funny taste is fading.
