With Skype you can enjoy making free calls all over the world to any other Skype users. Skype, SkypeOut are trademarks of Skype Limited. As your dual phone is connected to both the standard PSTN line AND to the Internet line, you can establish or receive landline and Internet calls on the same handset. Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Nice Phone, but does not work as it should all the time
I'm going to make this a short review of the problems this phone has. I give it 3 stars and thats being generous.

These are the problems I notice with the phone after having used it for a year.

1) It lags going through the menus.
2) Often you will have to reset the box because the phone goes into not available/no service mode. after unplugging/plugging back in power cord about 5 mins later the phone is able to be used again. sometimes you will have to do this 5-10 ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Skype Internet Phone
Saves a whole bunch of money.A really good investment, especially if you ring internationally.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Philips VOIP841 PC Free is the best! Why did they stop production?
The Philips VOIP841 is user friendly and allows Skype calls in and out plus landline useage all without having the PC on.Obviously, production had to be terminated once they hit upon something like this. The phone works great.Quality likewise. No complaints whatsoever. This is a first rate idea!My only problem is that Philips stopped production. The only phones available for VOIP useage require that the PC be "on".I'll keep the Philips 841 until it breathes its last gasp and then try and ... Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Died in one year!
I purchased a new Phillips VOIP841C phone. Came with 1 phone and it's modem.

The phone worked great for about 1 year. Now, it drags down my internet speeds and will drop the caller's voice. They can hear me, but I cannot hear them, yet the connection is still present.

Restart the router and the Phillips Skype Modem and phone. I've rechecked all connections to cable modem, skype modem, router. Still have this issue.

Without skype modem connected to my router, I get ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent, replaced my regular phone
After testing Skype itself (see other good reviews in this set on how Skype works) on a laptop for a month, we decided we liked it enough to get a Skype phone. After spending a lot of time comparing models on line, we got this one because it looked more like a regular phone (we don't need a Skype phone that travels) and so hoped it would be comfortable to use.In fact, its form is clearly derived from the Philips landline phone we had before.
The phone has surpassed expectations. Its is easy to ... Read More
