Minutes to Midnight stands to defend Linkin Park's status as the hardest-rockin' softies in mainstream music. Like its predecessors Hybrid Theory (2000) and Meteroa (2003), Minutes to Midnight flexes plenty of decibel-heavy muscle ("Given Up," "Bleed It Out," "No More Sorrow") and made-to-order, melodic radio fare ("Leave Out All the Rest," "Shadow of the Day," "In Pieces"). But for all its volume, Linkin Park likes to paint its heart openly on its sleeve with suspicious sonic drama, as in the palpably saccharine "Valentine's Day." Fortunately, co-producer Rick Rubin brings all these elements to pinnacle effect with the surprise "Hands Held High." - Most creative record I have heard in YEARS!
Wow!This record is an eye opener.With alot of crap coming out now days I was hesitant at first with this purchase...previously I did not care for 'Hybrid Theory' or 'Meteora'.I have a new love for this bands music.This band has true talent and it really shows on this record.The songs are very well thought out and have atmospheric approah that I love.Mr. Bennington can really sing, everything from hard metal vocals to sweet sounding ballads.Theres not one song on this record I do not ... This is Linkin Park's third original studio album. First of all I am tired of all the people who hate this album and compare it to Hybrid Theory. Hybrid Theory was a long time ago. Every band has a right to go through musical changes. Not every album is goin to be a carbon copy of Hybrid Theory. Now that thats's out of the way, this albuim felt very new and less rap centered like their older stuff. I don't like rap. It just doesn't sound like music. this album is sad.it is far from the rockin' Hybrid Theory.i am very disappointed that i have wasted my money on this one!they really need to pick up the pace.i don't want ballads from these guys.
