Designed by Helen Chen, daughter of renowned Chinese food pioneer Joyce Chen, the Asian Kitchen Excalibur line of cookware helps bring Asian cooking into the Western home. Crafted from durable carbon steel with a 2 mm thickness, the cookware combines rugged construction with convenient non-stick coating, so food cooks traditionally but cleans up quickly. Named for their premium 2-layer non-stick coating, Excalibur pans feature secure riveted handles made of stay-cool Bakelite. Perfect for the rapid heating conditions of searing and stir-frying, they are safe for use on gas, electric, and induction stovetops.
This Excalibur wok is a substantial cooking tool, suited to family-size meals and high-volume ingredients like greens. Fitted with a helper handle and hanging ring, it features a flat bottom and steep sides, and the domed tempered-glass lid creates excellent heat retention and steaming conditions. Measuring 14 inches in diameter, the piece should be washed by hand for best results. --Emily Bedard

- Helen chens excalibur 14" wok
This 14" nonstick wok workes great. The nonstick is applied well and the pan is of good quality The glass lid fits and works great.
Rating:
- EXCALIBUR, YES !XYLAN, NO !
From a performance/durability standpoint, the two types of nonstick surfaces (if one has to assume the risk of using ANY nonstick coating, at all) seem as different as is conceivable. With EXCALIBUR, one is likely to eat fairly-unadulerated food for a reasonable amount of months or years. With XYLAN, one is probably going to be eating XYLAN, also, VERY quickly! Also, Harold Import is a fine supplier. Those folks stand by their guarantee of complete satisfaction !
