- eats up the ink with lightning speed
I've used HP printers for 12 years and they have always been my preference. I used to spend maybe $200 on ink a year and I printed out thousands of pages of photos on top of text. I bought this D4260 for $39 and have been paying for my bargain find ever since. I've spent over $300 on ink since December and all I have printed out are about 400 postage labels and my income tax. I just drew my last straw; I installed a tricolor two days ago, have printed out 15 pages with a bit of red in them, hardly ... Read More
Rating: - HPD4260 Failed to create vibrant color crisp photo copies
HPD 4260 Deskjet Printer does not create crisp photo copies, and the color is dull. I have several HP printers, but would not buy this one again. I bought a Canon and it does what the HPD 4260 failed to do. I am trying to resolve this matter with HP tech support, but the help has been poor, and all I get is the suggestion to buy a higher priced HP printer.

This printer has really poor quality photos. Their website says it creates "beautiful, crisp, clear" photos, but this is a classical example of false advertising. When I called HP about it they just said I should have bought a more expensive printer. The quality of the photos is so poor you can barely even make out the image half the time because it's dark and blotchy. I sent them a scanned copy of the photos and they said this is normal. I can't believe they lie like that - outright on their website. ... Read More
Rating: - Way to much time with this printer!
I have Vista and another higher end HP printer.I don't know what it is, but this printer just decides that it is not going to respond at all.I can go through downloads, uninstall and reinstall.Who has the time for a piece like this?I'll never buy another HP.I have a Canon that works like a gem.This one was purchased just as a small desk top printer, but as someone else wrote the page receiver sticks out, looks awful, and takes up too much space.

Don't waste your money. This thing worked fine for 2 months on Windows XP and then started acting up after a security update blocked the annoying web information designed to sell you more products. Tech support was no help at all and I've wasted four days, 8 restarts, and 3 reinstalls. HP clearly wrote software beneficial only to them to sell more products. There is no way to set it function without the bloatware. I'm currently searching for a new printer as I've wasted too much time and money, including ... Read More
