- sound soothing barrier for overstimulated and sound-sensitive people
I bought the Marpac 980 A originally for my classroom.i work with kids that struggle with an increased sensitivity to noise.i also struggle with noise sensitivity.I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! For the area that it was placed in (where the loudest and most sensitive child sat) it did its job.However, ideally i would have needed at least 3 other machines to create the noise muting environment i was looking for.After school it was a life saver for me, because it enabled me to work on paper-work with ... - I like it...but doesn't always cover the snoring
The machine does a good job of blocking out noise but doesn't always block out snoring, the reason I bought it.I still like it...but it hasn't totally solved the problem.Also, they didn't send the Nature noise CD with it...and I forgot to complain to get the Nature CD sent to me separately.If you can make that happen, that would be great!!!(There was also no coupon for the CD which I thought might be the other way they were going to handle the Nature noise CD.)

It is pretty good! It isn't as loud as I would expect it to be, even on the highest setting.

This product has a nice tone and really covers up outside noise.I took it on a trip and it was very helpful in allowing me to sleep as I am a very light sleeper.My daughter got one too.

this item really works for the application.I use it to create white noise to help with sleeping.I have used them in clinical situations before to mask conversations which it also does very well. Highly adjustable, pleasant sounding.
