Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Ouch....
I saw that this was unavailable on Amazon so I checked out the Sony site.. On the Sony site they state that this is no longer available.. Too sad, because I've heard and read online that this is a very good product....

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Not Happy
I purchased this combo DVD/VCR player for my exercise tapes, which I use daily, since I have a wide collection of both VHS & DVD's. And I've always liked the user-friendly aspect of Sony products. However, after only 4 months, both DVD & VHS tapes started freezing in the middle of play. Not good when you're right in the middle of your morning work-out.

Because of security features Sony now installs in their devices to forestall piracy, only the Sony company can do repairs. So, even though ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Combo unit's tuner works fine with my antenna
Ordered this combo unit 3mos ago. Was easy to set up, including the Sony's auto-scan recognizing all the analog and digital stations' signals picked up by our antenna. I've had a tunerless Sony combo for a year which has to use a digital converter box for the air wave digital signals. I didn't want more converter boxes, so for my 2nd VHS/DVD recorder I purchased this one because of the built-in tuner. So far both combo units are working fine. (Still have 2 "old style" analog tuner Sony VHS recorders, both ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Problems from day one
My Sony RDRVXD655 was a problem from day one and I haven't even used it for what was intended-transfering VHS tapes to disc.Using DVD's, the picture would stop & skip. This problem went away and now the picture has, frequently, a fast vertical 'jerking'.Totally unacceptable for viewing. Now to have to go to the trbl of repacking and returning for repairs/replacement.Heck, I should have bought one of this model that was used and saved some $'s. (I had to click on one star since 0 stars is not available)

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Pleased.
I bought this to transfer to DVD all the VHS-C tapes of the kids I've accumulated over the years. I have about 70 of those. The Sony is working very well in this process. I put in the VHS-C and a blank DVD-R and press a button. When it'sdone, it stops and I continue the process. Very easy, and the end product is a very nice DVD collection of the kids.
