- Be Careful
NetNanny is a good product but they overdid it. The program slows down the internet too much and for some reason I couldn't get into my Facebook account. Everytime I'd tried it shut down my internet conection so I had to restart my computer. After trying to reinstalled it many times and followed their instruction I finally gave up.
Now I'm trying CyberPatrol and so far no problems.

After we found some really nasty stuff on our adopted son's browsing history, I downloaded a trial version of NetNanny.Tomorrow I'm going to have to take it our laptop in to a computer repair shop to try to get the operating system repaired at considerable expense.It completely hijacked the OS and wouldn't allow me to reset any of the settings.I tried contacting the customer service department but their instructions proved ineffective.They were nice enough, however, to send me a review of ... Rating: - Did not work on my machine
I spent two weeks trying to get NetNanny to work on my machine, and finally gave up.I worked closely with their technical support people, who were very good.But after installing it and uninstalling it repeatedly as per their instructions, it still caused almost a complete seizing up of my computer.The computer was useless any time any part of Net Nanny was installed on it.I worked on this diligently, but finally gave up in great frustration.Sad to say, as I wanted this software in place.

While Net Nanny seems very easy to set up and configure, we had a lot of problems with it.For example, it kept asking for an admin password when you opened a web browser, even though I had configured it to allow web surfing for everyone -- and then it wouldn't even accept my admin password.Ultimately I found out (from their web site) that Net Nanny did not support Windows Vista 64-bit OS.I wish I had known that before I purchased the software, but hopefully this will serve as a warning to everyone ... Rating: - Good To Have While It Lasts
I purchased Net Nanny about a year ago.It did not have as many options and features as I had expected but it did offer some degree of protection for my kids while online.The ability to limit the time my kids spent online was my favorite feature.The reason I'm giving it a low rating is because after a year, it just stopped working and gave me a message about my license having expired.This came as a complete surprise to me.When I paid for Net Nanny software, I expected to have Net Nanny protecting ...
