Produced by the Australian firm Füritechnics, the high-end knives meet Ray's personal specifications: light in weight, very sharp, super-grippy handles. And, no surprise, orange is her favorite color. A snappy gift for an aspiring chef, this set consists of a slender birch-wood block and these seven Gusto Grip knives: 3-1/2-inch paring, 5-inch boning, 6-inch serrated utility, 7-inch East/West, 8-inch bread, 8-inch carving, and a carving fork.
Strong without being heavy, each Füri Rachael Ray Gusto Grip knife is constructed from a single piece of superior German CrMoV stainless-steel alloy, with a forged bolster and strong tang. Molded around the tang is an inner core of durable polypropylene and an outer layer of synthetic rubber for all-day, non-slip comfort. One new feature is the anti-microbial agent permanently infused into the polypropylene. The handles feature the patented Füri reverse-wedge shape that prevents the hand from sliding toward the sharp blade even when wet. At the tail, a stainless-steel counterweight provides perfect balance. Füritechnics recommends washing the knives by hand and sharpening them periodically with the company's own Diamond Fingers system. I got these knives about 6 months ago and I am still very satisfied. I am happy with the variety and quality of the knives. The orange handles are comfortable and look nice and modern paired with the birch block.
Another feature that I didn't think I would care about but do like is that the knives rest in the block upside down. Basically, when you slide it in, the blade doesn't slice into the block, but instead it rests safely facing upward.

I had a drawer full of old knifes that I never used because they were hard to cut with.I got rid of all of them and replaced them with this set. Now all my knives are organized nicely on the counter. They cut great; I have used them for vegetables, meat, fruit, pizza etc. I use at least one every night when I make dinner. I only wish I had the shearers...I may end up buying them separately. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they were so expensive but Amazon had them cheaper than ... Read More

Purchased these knives for my parents.Before presenting the set to them - I first did an inspection.The first thing you realize is just how inadequate all other knives are in their grip.These knives simply refuse to slip- and I believe this would likely be the same case when your hands may become wet or slippery i.e. slicing vegetables, etc.I have my own set of classic Wusthof and I almost dread the thought of them slipping out of my hand.The Furi knives are rather bigger and heavier than most ... I BOUGHT THIS SET BECAUSE IT WAS PRICED MUCH LOWER THAN THE OTHER RR KNIVE SET THAT I WAS LOOKING AT, AND I AM SO HAPPY WITH IT, I JUST LOVE THE WAY THE HANDLES FIT IN MY HAND, THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT I HAVE HAD IS THE BASE IS NOT VERY STEADY AND CAN TIP OVER EASILY IF BUMPED. GREAT SET FOR THE MONEY.
