The DS-A2x comes with an on-screen display mode (OSD) that enables you to view track lists, artists, albums, songs, genres, composers on your connected display for easy selection and navigation. If you have long lists on your iPod, you can use four page modes, Large, Medium, Small and Page, to move through the list in progressively larger steps. You'll have absolutely no need to handle your iPod while it's sitting in the DS-A2x as it comes with its own remote controller to control all basic playback functions. The remote controller also brings one-touch control for random shuffle playback over songs or albums, a resume function that will return to the track being played when the iPod is stopped or removed from the Dock and a repeat function for one track or all. You can also switch off the OSD to enjoy video playback via the DS-A2x's composite video output. View photos as a slide show over the larger display of your TV or enjoy viewing your photos over you computer display. - Nice option if you have the money
Great quality product, works great with my Onkyo receiver.
The only complaint is the remote does not control the volume.This can be a nuisance whenyou need to adjust your volume on a regular basis because you have an "eclectic" music style.

- DS-A2X is garbage
I agree with some earlier reviews. Made the mistake of buying this after getting a flyer leaflet in the box for my Onkyo Home Theatre system. The HT system is awesome, the dock is worthless. OSD is like a throwback to 1970's and the video did not work with any Ipod or I Touch I own, Called customer service and they blamed my IPOD. Absolute crap. I got a Return Authorization code and they can have this trash back, Bought a DLO HD Dock, and it's great out of the box......do not waste money on this.

Couples nicely with my Onkyo TX805 and performs well as a hook-up/charger for my iPod 80Gb Classic.Only wish the images projected were in at least 480I or 480P, not NTSC.

I purchased this product in the hopes of buying three more for all the AV units in my home.This will be the only one I will purchase.The AV units are Sony, Yamaha, Panasonic and Samsung; connectivity to say the least was unfriendly.To connect to each unit required lots of time and a different connection for each receiver.The instructions are focused on Onkyo AV receivers and I'm sure if you have ALL Onkyo product it will be much easier.I'm going to purchase from each of my AV manufacturers ... I bought this thinking it was going to be another great addition in my onkyo family.I have had many different onkyo products, and have never been disapointed.But I have to say, this time I kinda am.I thought I was going to be able to see the ipod screen, on my tv, for the video interface.But that unfortualy is not the case.There is all of the ipod functions displayed on the screen, but the look of the interface is terrible.No polish, no snap.But it plays music and charges the ipod.Woo ...
