- Best Tasting Water, Much Cheaper Filter
We just switched from the GE filter to Brita and couldn't be happier. The Brita-filtered water comes out crystal clear and tastes delicious - much better than the GE-filtered water.
Installation was easy, just follow the advice of Paul Gifford (April 29, 2008 review).I think the water flow is slightly better as well.
The price on Amazon cannot be beat, either.Much less expensive than the GE filter.
Rating:
- Works, but a tight fit
This filter works just as well as the overpriced GE original. One hint, especially for those that use the Culligan adaptor: you may need to use some force to get the filter attached all the way onto the adaptor, or water will not flow when you mount the filter.I had to use a jar grip to get that thing screwed on there all the way.
Rating:
- Works Great
Less expensive alternative for the GE filter. No problems with fitting. We'll absolutely use these again.
Rating:
- Excellent replacement
Installed seamlessly if the instructions for replacement are followed, perfect fit, excellent water flow...possibly even better than the stock filter provided. A highly recommended substitute or replacement for the stock GE refrigerator water filters.

- Great product but get the air out!
Great product.Water tastes great and the price was good.Make sure to get all the air out of the filter - otherwise you will have uneven, bumpy flow.A good way to get the air out is to submerge the filter in water with the opening up until all the bubbles escape.Tap the filter intermittently.
