In the last two weeks, I intensively researched on best audio MP3.price or money is not a concern, audio quality is. I listened to some of the so called "best" audio MP3, from Apple iXYZ (iPod, iTouch, iPhone) to Creative Zen's. Using Shure's e5c earbud as my audio device, I concluded the Cowon iAudio7 produces the best audio quality.Apple's iXYZ is the long distance second.

- POOR RECORD QUALITY
The iAUDIO 7 is heavily promoted as having line-in recording, with support for many file formats. This is misleading. The iAudio 7 can only record in WMA format, even for a line-in source. Bitrate choice is limited to 64, 80, 96, or 128.
The device will play other formats, but internet message boards are flooded with problem reports regarding compatibility with those formats, as well as other issues.

The only thing I was disappointed in, was that the player was black, instead of the red that was advertised.

I have owned 4 creative zen v's, an ipod and a lexar, but this player's sound is in a class all of it's own. loaded in some flac files, and good lord - the sound from this is literally stunning. the only downside is the very strange
GUI with this device, and the very touchy controls. They do frequently upgrade the firmware, so the gui can be lived with. they have to change the buttons, they are way too imprecise. thank god there is a way to lock the panel so you can't accidentally touch the dials ... Read More

This is a great recorder for both radio and or computer files battery life is excellent, It took some time to learn how to use, but I would recommend this to my friends.
