My desktop computer crashed as well after installing BitDefender Internet Security and my laptop froze and I was left with a mess of errors to fix. Since recovering / re-installing all software and trying to get computers back to normal operation, everyday I am left with BitDefender's 'Critical Updates' to make, yet those updates have been made on the computer - but BitDefender does not recognize it. It is a great deal, BitDefender is rated by ConsumerReports as being one of the best.
All virus protection slows your computers down a bit, some more than others. The use of the Disk as a Startup disk saved my sons computer.

Installed this on my desktop about six months ago.It seemed to be working fine, but then suddenly could not connect to the interent.Checked with ATT, my DSL and router are working fine. So I brought my laptop home from work and it connected right up. My brother checked it out and said I've got some kind of malware issue blocking me from the internet server.
