- Good Scanner - Easy to setup
I had read some of the reviews regarding set-up issues before purchasing and was a little concerned, but there was no reason to be. I was able to set up the scanner very quickly - it does pay to read the quick start setup instructions and load the scanner software BEFORE plugging the scanner into your PC. I usually read the instructions when all else fails, but caught this important detail when I happen to read the quick start guide first. After the install of the software and connection of the scanner ... Read More

- Excellent Photo Scanner
Canon CanoScan 8800F Color Film/Negative/Photo Scanner (2168B002)For my family history projects, I include lots of photos. Unfortunately many of the old pictures I want to include are faded, others are badly creased or cracked. I bought this scanner with the hope of being able to improve the damaged photos somewhat. This scanner not only met, but exceeded my expectations.I am amazed at the results after using the different tools that are included in the software. And it is easy to use!Not only does ... After checking out several scanners that friends had and after buying a scanner and taking it back I they just did not have the resolution I was looking for and was making slide images that were scanned too dark. I tried looking online, after checking several revews I settled on the Canoscan 8800f.It is a lot faster than other scanners, no warm up time, and a really speedy prescan. I have been very happy with the scans off of the slides I have gotten. the scans are at a very good 4800 dpi with the standard ... Read More

- CanoScan 8800F
I am very happy with the Cannon scanner. It is easy to use and it has good capabilities (negatives, positives, documents). I have scanned some old negatives, which you can do about 8 at time. I have also scanned some slides (4 slides at a time). In both cases the photos look just fine. The scanner is a little noisy and it seems slow (one tends to compare it with computer uploads that are really fast in comparisons). However the scanner does the job and it enables one to resurrect old images that otherwise ... - Very nice slide scanner
I just scanned my first slides with this scanner.I am pleasantly surprised by the results.I looked at a few of the scanned images looking for details. At 200% size for the image at 300dpi the images are crisp and clear. The colors are the same as the slides.I scanned four slides at once with excellent results. The images may not be quality for something like a 20"x30" print but they are darned good.I recommend this scanner.
