- Overly complicated and drinks ink by the gallon
Its slow, very complicated, non-intuitive (and I work in IT), noisy but its worst feature is how thirsty it is. Even on the the settings which should take the least ink its incredible how fast it goes through cartridges. I print 30-50 pages using only black ink and have to replace the cartridge.
If you do any amount of printing at all I'd run away from this beast.

Works as advertised. No issues. Looks good and is of very good quality.
Drivers/Software work very well. That's a huge blessing.
Go for it, if you need exactly the features that this printer offers.

I bought this printer last year and it has performed beautifully, far superior in color, printing, faxing than my last Hewlett Packard printer I owned which I replaced with this one. What a difference in performance. i paid around 90 dollars. the only thing canon should work on is the ink cartridge could give you more printing pages. But i found the solution to
buy generic ink for 12 dollars and refill the cartridges 4 or 5 times, saving a ton of money.

The loud clicks when the printer is "warming up" are rather annoying.Now I don't know if this is a defect in my printer or from wear over time, since I had this for more than 9 months.
Quiet mode is not quite quiet.Sure during the printing, it's quieter, but I'm not so satisfied with the noises before and after the printing, i.e. the roller ... Read More

We originally thought we would always stick with HP, but after our last printer went out (after 12 years) and we read the reviews on all the new HP products, we decided to try something else.We have only used the printer and copier and absolutely love it!It is a perfect size for a home all-in-one printer.Hopefully the scanning and faxing will work as well!
