- Far Better than Ghost
Norton had been destroying Ghost and AV for quite a few years. Ghost was the preferred choice for system imaging and it was simple, light, easy to use and straight forward, but Ghost 11 was a nightmare.
Been using Acronis True Image for awhile now and it is a great program.

- Acronis makes a totally unreiable product
This is my second BAD experience with Acronis products!With version 8 I was never able to restore a failed hard drive successfully.Being the sublime optimist, I purchased version 11 hoping for more.I installed the product and, upon reboot, got a blue screen of death!This on a
new Quad Core machine with 4 gigs of memory.
Acronis now has a chat support system (greatly improved from version 8) BUT the tech (from India) kept instructing me to perform operations on a machine ... Read More
Rating: - Nearly impossible to restore individual files
I needed to restore particular files from a backup on DVDs to a new PC. The process was a nightmare. First, I had to swap DVD's for at least 45 minutes just to get the directory tree to complete. Then, when I started to restore the files, the DVD swapping got ridiculous. The PC would read from a DVD for a second or two and then require a different DVD. After about another 45 minutes, I gave up. Acronis support told me that DVD swapping hundreds of time is normal. This software may be fine for backing ... Read More

First and foremost, this software has no support from the developer.If it works, that's great.If it doesn't, you're on your own.
A single disk 'ghost' image of the entire hard drive seems to work fine.I have restored this about six times without a problem.
A two disk ghost of an almost identical system does not restore.I tried twice, and both times the restoration process continually prompts me to change disks from the first to the last to the first to the last - you ... Read More

Well I have been using this Acronis True Image 11 since December 31, 2008. It was not so easy for me to use at first until I printed out the whole instructions for using it. Once I did this I was able to do everything I wanted to do along with the Iomega Prestige 500 GB USB 2.0 External Destop Hard Drive which I also bought on Amazon. I am new to computers so I expected to have a bit of trouble at first. I am pleased that I bought this instead of the Acronis True Home Image 2009 which has a poor rating ... Read More
