I got this as an "open box" item.I did not know that I needed an RF module but that only cost an extra $100.I initially regretted not getting the new Logitech universal remote.However, after getting this programmed(by a pro), I am very happy with the purchase.Unless you get the remote with the PC programming package, you will need to get someone to program it for you;that can be expensive and take a while.It cost me $100 and 2 hours.It is very easy to use and fits comfortable in my ... - Remote is Very Good, Software Very Poor
This remote is great. I've had several URC remotes in the last few years, and this one is my favorite. It's one of the only ones that allows "activity-based" function (meaning you can set it up so that you press 1 button for whatever activity you want to do, rather than just control individual devices all the time).
I only have 2 complaints. 1. The software is VERY poor. Confusing, convoluted, not intuitive at all, and makes difficult some things that should be very simple. 2. The battery ... Read More

I've recently upgraded my entire home theater system to a full THX setup and wanted to treat myself to a comparable universal remote.Right from the start I was disappointed in this remote as only two of my six components were in the online database (all name brand gear).After another two hours learning the software I figure I'd need another 4-6 hours to complete the job - no thanks.Before I decided to return this I jumped over to the LogiTech website and found all my gear listed and a much simpler ... The quality of this remote (and the final result of some tinkering) - is worth the extra effort.
The bright, clear display; fit and finish; solid button feel - are un-matched. I've tried most of the others, and this remote has great in-hand feel and easily accessed keys in the dark. I'm not a big fan of the big screen only remotes as they are hard to use without looking at them.
The software MUST have been redesigned since some of these other reviews - it is easy to use and quite intuitive. There ... Read More

I basically agree with a lot of the other reviews I read before making the purchase.The remote is great (though I really wish it came with a docking station instead of a cheesy adapter to plug it into for recharging) but the software sucks.Once you learn how the software works (which you'll do on your own as there's next to no documentation) there's an amazing array of things you can do--definitely worth buying through here and not at the Big Box stores.Don't be surprised when you program the software to ...
