- Breville 800BLXL Blender
I have now used this blender for approximately a month and am not entirely sold on it. It does have plenty of power but when in the normal operating mode it decides to surge on and off for no apparent reason. I am curious if others have experienced this phenomenon. It is definitely up to the task of ice crushing, blending and smoothie making but this surging is quite annoying.

This blender kicks a**!
My wife and I use the blender for smoothies and protein shakes, at least 2x-3x/day.We've burned our way through a couple of Cuisinarts, and a few other lesser brands.
This machine is rock solid, and crushes ice perfectly.Very easy to clean, and more importantly, very easy to take apart and put back together.
Was a bit skeptical at first, given some of the reviews; however, we're about a month into it and love this machine!

Breville 800BLXL Die-Cast Hemisphere 2-Speed Blender is so awesome! Since I received my new blender, I have not needed to use a spatula to stir the bottom of it because all "large stuff" is evenly distributed as "small stuff"! I am so happy whenever I make my smoothie or make crushed ice that only takes seconds.

This is my third blender in five years, but I'm pretty sure it's a keeper. First of all, it's beautiful, massive and looks like a powerful monument to technology on my counter. It just might be the one appliance that Tim the Tool Guy would decide needed no modification.
It makes the perfect smoothie. I don't get of the air pocket problems mentioned in other reviews. Smoothies come out smooth, with no chunks and very creamy. My nine year old daughter is a smoothie expert and she gives ... Read More

I read most of the 5 star reviews and have to agree with them.I bought this blender at an incredible discount from the $400 MSRP.I am NOT an expert or even an amateur chef.I simply wanted a good/great blender after dealing with $30 Wal-Mart specials that simply failed at everything.
This thing is AMAZING.Don't turn this thing on when somebody is sleeping though, it's pretty loud.Especially so if you are grinding ice.The power of this thing simply *annihilates* ice for smoothies. ... Read More
