So far so good....like all hard drives there are the ones that die right away...they are mechanical and quit like all things like that do - this one set up easy even though there were almost no instructions...works fine so far..

My 500 Gig My Book died and I purchased the 1 TB as a replacement.It worked perfectly right out of the box.I reformatted it to NTFS, which took about 15 hours.I am very happy with the purchase.

Died after three weeks. I used it for back-ups only. I am glad my Ghost and other backups were passworded, since i could not access or remove any data before sending back to WD. It is fairly annoying that I have to pay 7 bucks to ship this back to them for them to honor their warranty.

I have been very impressed with this hard drive. This terabyte of storage from Western Digital makes backing up files easier than ever. Everything I ever wanted to save: documents, music and videos all fit with room to spare! Thank you, Western Digital, for creating this wonderful device!

The product seems to work as advertised. It installed as a plug and play under windows. I reformated it to have full capacity under Windows XP, with the utility for that purpose sent on the drive. I simply used One Care's backup as the backup. I am no longer getting blue screens of death as I did with the Seagate external hard disc, caused by the software Seagate supplies that does not work properly with windows.
