- Absolute Junk!!!
This product is a piece of garbage and I'm giving it a very charitable 1 star.It loads very, very, very slowly.Even regular dvd's are ridiculously slow.Half of the blu-rays I own play on this player with problems, and firmware upgrades (when they come, which is basically never) do nothing.I completely regret ever buying this pile of crap. If you are thinking of buying this player...I warn you - don't do it!!This thing is so primitive and useless - just stay away from Sharp period...clearly ... Read More
Rating: - Playerr just died after annoying non-usage!
Player had horrible start-up time and thus went unused. Tried to use it recently and it simply doesn't work. Called Sharp...wants to charge for repairs!! Player goes to garbage and Sharp looses a customer for life.

I'm not the type of person to post negative comments however; for the money this player is a piece of crap...I bought it in early 2008 on Amazon (no issue with Amazon!), it worked less than average for 10 months. Then in late 2008, for some unknown reason, every new BlueRay disk I attempt to play resulted in an "incompatible disk" error within 20 seconds of inserting it.I've tried many tricks to get it to play, but with no luck.I contacted Sharpe 3 months ago with no success... Rating: - Crashed after firmware update
I was fairly pleased with the player until I tried to play a new Blu Ray DVD and it would not play.The player informnd me that formats change from time to time and that I must update the firmware to watch the movie.
I went online and downloaded the update and installed it per the directions.At the end of the process, the player was supposed to restart, but it went into a infinite loop of restarting and shutting down.
I contacted Sharp support and was told I would have to ... Read More

When I bought my Shap Aquos BDHP20U about a year ago, I was very happy with it. After about 5 months I rented Hancock in Blu-Ray and after a short time reading the disc, it ejected it with a message saying,"Incompatable Disc" I went to the Sharp website looking for the latest software update but the latest one was the one I already had. After 2 months the same thing happened with another blu-ray rental and I called Sharp to tell them about it. I was told there would be a new update "any day now". That ... Read More
