The Chipmunks may have been CGI-ized but the helium-distorted, super-high-pitched singing style of Alvin, Simon and Theodore has been preserved. If you have kids or are a kid at heart (with a special fondness for novelty tunes), this is a goldmine. The 'munk classic "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas, Don't Be Late)" is covered twice: the "DeeTown OG Mix" is a fairly faithful version, while the "DeeTown Rock Mix" goes the emo-lite route; another nugget, "Witch Doctor," also gets dusted up, with the addition of a so-so rap. Nice bonus: The 1958 versions of these two songs are included as well, for old times' sake. Newer tracks are just as zany. The CD starts off with a take on David Powter's hit "Bad Day," which sounds completely insane done Chipmunk-style; "Funky Town" is downright hair-rising. The DeeTown Syndicate not only produced it all but also contributes several songs of its own that waffle between corny hip-hop ("How We Roll") and contempo Disney Channel style ("Coast 2 Coast"). You know you're a nanny when you are driving alone in your car and it takes you 10 minutes to realize you are 24 and listening to the Alvin and the Chipmunks (or is you're my 5 year old that i nanny or...Elvin and the Chick-a-munks) cd all by yourself withing even thinking about it..

it's a cute CD (cute movie too) with cute songs in it, and cute covers of real songs. kids love the CD!

My ten year old got this for Easter.HE loves it.He has almost listened to it non-stop.It has a few cute songs on it.I like 'Cuz you Had a bad day.I will say several of the more rap sounding songs get on my nerves very quickly.Head phones are a lovely invention.It was worth it for the joy he gets out of it.Very reasonably priced here at Amazon.

My 4 year old loves the movie and was so excited when I told him I'd buy him the soundtrack. Every time I play it for him in the car, I hear him singing along. I find myself enjoying too.

I enjoyed and I would watch again the chipmunks movie.I purchased the CD after watching the movie because I liked the "Witch Doctor" song.It makes me feel like dancing. All the songs on the CD is great!I like watching movies a lot and I enjoy the music from the movie's I watch. The chimpmunks are so cute when they sing and I feel children will enjoy the movie and CD.
