- GREAT Cable Modem!
This does a great job. It has not gone out on me once and is extremely tinny compared to my last one from Motorola that kept disconnecting. No complaints at all, it is well worth the $60 because now I don't have to pay to rent one. I recommend!

This is a great and affordable cable modem if you are looking to replace an older model.I have Cox cable which came with the original Terayon TJ715 modem.WOW... I wish I would have bought the Linksys CM100 modem sooner.My internet service used to drop every day and it was very slow. I had to reboot my modem and router everyday.Now, the speed is unbelievable and I have not had to reboot the modem.I have the modem connected to a Linksys wireless router and all of my computers are working ... Since I got cable modem service six years ago I had stuck with the Motorola Surfboard line, which I will not criticize nor praise because both the box I rented from the cable company (and bought five times over) and the later 5100 model bought from a co-worker worked very well for me. But towards the beginning of October last year I started experiencing major problems staying online and after an epic back-and-forth with the cable company that took two months to solve, I thought it would be the cable ... I was amazed how quickly the cable modem came. I wasn't looking forward to contacting Charter to get the modem going but was pleasantly surprised when I brought up the software and in a short time the modem was working.

- Modem Meltdown
I purchased a CM100 about 8 months ago at a local store to match my Linksys WRT54GS.In the last month or so I've noticed sporadic internet service during which my ping times increased by ~500ms for periods of roughly 2-3 minutes.Well my CM100 finally died today after a gentle existence on the floor behind my TV.
I'm not pleased that a $70 modem only lasted 8 months.
