Rating:
- Just short of worthless
The other users that are rating this poorly are dead accurate. By far, the worst product I have seen or used in years. Buy ANYTHING else and you'll probably be money ahead. One thing I'd like to add is that updates to Java break the management console. This has happened not once, but multiple times as a quick search will show you. The current update to Java, 1.6.0_13, has once again broken the console. The best their support site has to offer at this time is to say they're aware of it and working ... Read More

- Complete TRASH
As a Senior Network Admin at a mid-size company, I can honestly say this product is north worth the CD it was burned on, or the bandwidth I wasted downloading the management console. I DO NOT, as in PLEASE GOD NO, recommend this product by any stretch of the imagination for any size enterprise deployment. You cannot install this on ANY servers due to its suite of products that shut down critical services. Clients see a TREMENDOUS performance downgrade when a full system scan is running on maxed out ... Read More

- Pretty bad
uninstalls horribly; usually crashes (so far, always has) during the uninstall or removal of features.Resource hog.Requires Liveupdate for updates; ie you cant manually download the updates (as per symantec tech support) without running liveupdate.i did manage to download the antivirus definition manually, but not the Network Threat and other threat (the one with zero day feature) updates.

I was using SAV 10 on our small business network. When it came time for the annual license update, I followed the link provided by Symantec from the management console, which, instead of downloading a new license for my current application, downloaded SEP 11 instead. I assumed (erroneously) that my product had been deprecated and that this was the replacement. Symantec also downloaded a short file saying "Why install it yourself? Take advantage of our Remote Install service." When I reviewed the copious ... Read More

- Mommy, Please Make it Stop
As I write this angry users with torches and pitchforks are banging on my door. This product is an absolute disgrace. Installs poorly and shutsdown anything you can think of with no override possible. Uninstalls like gar-bage and crashes exchange server in the process. WOW. Hard to believe this is supposed to be real software. Remote sessions requiring ms popup control in theunderlying app. are blocked. When I called MS support the VERY FIRST QUESTION THEY ASKED is are you using SEP11?
