I bought these TSX100 radios for my two kids because they are simple to use and are private.My husband and I use and love the TSX300 and they work with the TSX100.I can talk to my kids anytime, even when they are at the neighbor's house down the street or at the pool.It gives me some peace of mind.Some of my friends have tried to do this with the regular walkie talkies, but there is always someone bothering them on all the channels (sometimes with dirty mouths).

I previously purchased Midland LXT340 with the AVHP3 headsets from Amazon. First, they are garbage. They don't go 1/4 mile much less than the 30 miles they boast. Second, these radios do not have a VOX option, but are being sold with the VOX headsets. I was looking at the Trisquare 300's but chose the 100's because they were cheaper, have the same radio function, and I do not text message. - Radio seems good, but recharger isn't.
I bought this radio TriSquare TSX100-2VP eXRS Digital 2-Way Radio (Pair),
and used it when I was skiing at Jackson Hole, WY. Radio seems working well, something about 1 - 2 mls distance, but recharger isn't, because it never gave me information about full charge- red lights never shut down
even batteries were under charge about 36 hours and i couldn't find any manual how to use this charger or recharger.

Notice how Amazon does not tell you the range of these radio's??? On other websites it says that the range is up to 30 miles,more like 30 yards!!!I got them in, charged them up, and did not even go 3 blocks.I tried all channels and still nothing.I came back 1 block making it only 2 blocks from my home and it was ok. Now in my home,with both radios, it was very clear,but I really did not want to spend $57.00 to only talk in my house.If i could have gotten at least 2 to 4 miles I would have rated it a little ...
