Award-winning chef and restaurateur Rick Bayless knows his way around Mexican cuisine. Chile peppers are an integral part of many Mexican dishes, and roasting the peppers in order to remove the skins is now made easier with this cast-iron roaster/griddle combination. The heavy cast-iron roaster is basically an open ring with handles, which fits around a gas or electric burner. Fitting in that is the cast-iron grill, and on top of that go the chile peppers. Turn up the heat, and turn the peppers from time to time to char all sides. You can also use the setup in the oven, or with the smooth griddle instead of the grill. Steak or chicken strips for fajitas sear on the griddle, and it also keeps tortillas at just the right warmth for serving. Choose a color for the roaster's exterior and match with other Rick Bayless kitchen accessories. After use, wash and dry the pepper roaster and parts by hand. --Ann Bieri

I purchased this for myself and then ordered another for my daughter.We both like this very much and would recommend it.

Of course you can heat tortillas in a frying pan -- but it isn't as much fun as this item.Great show stopper for parties and just plain fun for every day.Haven't tried the pepper roasting feature for fear of a mess on my stove, but will put down foil and give it a try.Bought this one for my son after having bought one for myself at a higher price.

Absolutely ingenious product! Roast your peppers whole on the grill top for your fajitas and enjoy the subtly smoky sweetness that you just cannot achieve by pan sauteeing!The cast iron solid top holds heat with a fierceness and can be used to brown your beef, chicken, onions, whatever.Extremely well made and more versatile than you can imagine. My only complaint?I've found it's not quite big enough for me and my family's appetite --- should have bought two!

This thing is really nice. It's heavy and well made. How do YOU roast peppers? And it's a griddle, to. For the times I roast peppers and the sale price, it's the greatest.

I tried the pepper roaster on my smooth top electric range and it worked perfectly.The product is supposed to work better on gas ranges.If I have a disapointment, it is the grill attachment which is pretty small and made of cast iron, which means it is heavy.We all know that cast iron has to be oiled or greased to use it and after the very first use, it became discolored, but not evenly.This is just typical of cast iron.I would have preferred a non stick coated type product.This would ...
