I was on the fence for a long time.I love radio, but I hate the endless talking.Satellite radio has less talking, but I didn't like any of the stations - they are too specialized, and not any of the stations are ones I could listen to for any length of time.Not only that, but the expense is ridiculous.An MP3 player would give me the songs I like, if I can afford to buy them all, but setting up a play list is time consuming, and if I want to change my play list later, well, only the most expensive ... I enjoy my Slacker G2 player. I like the fact that yes, even though it has pre-programmed stations, you can go to their site and add your own and customize htem. Plus I also like the fact that you can create your own playlists to listen to. That is a neat feature too. One other thing that I found interesting is when a song is playing on one of the stations, you can read the artist infromation and look at the album art for the song that is currently playing. Plus it will show you the last songs that it played ... Read More

I love my Slacker!I have it set to download a few "stations".The stations are customizable from online.I was concerned about how it would work with my Mac.It is fine!I use the website to customize my stations and then I have my Slacker use wifi for updates.It is very easy and I like the variety of music it puts together.In the past I have found that custom internet stations play music that all sounds alike rather than playing other things I may like if I like a song or band.Slacker doesn't do ... I waited until I owned this product for more than a month before writing the review- I was floored the first few days so I wanted to wait until I became an regular user of the product to allow for potential problems/bugs etc.

I remember reading about this when it was first coming out and thought it was cool but didn't bite because it was a little pricey.Now that they have a G2 out the first gen player is cheap I got my 8gb for well under a $100 brand new.Before I bought the player I listened to slacker.com for a month or so and loved it. Personally I think it beats the snot out of pandora.So I have had the player for about 2 months now with very few problems I got it to sync with my wireless netgear router no problem thats usually ...
