- not a technical review
This won't be a technical review because I'm not a major videophile. We didn't do a lot of research before buying a projector for our television and movie watching pleasure. We went to an electronics store, found the handful that were in our price range and selected the one with the best review averages from various sites. This is the one we brought home.

- Excellent Value
This projector was bought after about two years of research (the time it took to build my basement) - and it is worth every penny I spent on it. It is a great addition to any home theater - esp those wanting a slim form factor projector that is relatively easy to set up and mount.

I did some research on projectors, wanting to stay as much under one thousand that I could.I was ready to buy the Mitsu HD1600 due to the great price, but a friend that is really into these things recommended this HD65 for the extra one hundred forty at the time.I am very pleased with the result. It is also much smaller than I thought. I do not have blu-ray yet, but do have HDMI with dvd. Also WOW looks great on the wall.I was going to ceiling mount, but it worked out to have it behind the ... If you use it with Bluray, you won't be going to the movies very often. Everyone I have invited to watch concerts or movies in it was blown away. There are some limitations, like its placement. But even in small spaces it can produce a fairly large picture. Much bigger than a LCD display. I strongly recommend this. Also, it is so light and small you can take it ... Read More

Did a minor amount of research before settling on this product, It had the highest rated contrast that I saw in the sub $1000 range.I have used it in daylight with indirect light and It was usable. In a darkened room it is very nice.Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.
