Purchased this new and the drive failed a few months after purchase. WD sent me a refurbished one which I wasn't too happy about (I knew this because I could see the housing was scratched). Aside from the obvious disaster of data loss, you really do not want to be shipping your hard drive back to the manufacturer as there is the possibility that someone could read sensitive data on the drive. I could not wipe the drive because it was damaged.

It was great for a year. Then once I finally got all of my files organized it died on me! So if you want to waist your money on things that don't last than this is the hard drive for you.

Best thing I could have ever bought.It holds all my music & my games w/o tying up the memory on my harddrive.& if I fill it up, I can buy another one & use both simultaneously.It's wonderful.Installation was breeze & coming from someone who would have paid someone to plug it in, is saying a lot. Definitely worth the money.

I have only had the drive hooked up for a little over a month and haven't moved all my media over to it yet, but so far I have to say it has exceeded all my expectations.I researched for many months before I decided on this drive.For the price and the ease of set up *although formatting to NTFS does take quite some time*Other than the formatting thing it is a very small and big drive well worth what I paid for it.
