Key User Features
The Skeletool CX has a large knife blade that can be accessed while the tool is closed; to open it, just place your thumb in the thumbhole at the base of the blade and rotate it out until it's fully extended -- which will engage the safety lock. This locking mechanism is noted with a padlock symbol on the tool. To unlock the blade, press the locking mechanism towards the handle until the blade slides past the lock.
Equipped with a universal bit driver, the Skeletool offers real utility options like no other multitool. To change the tool bits, simply unfold the tool and remove the bit from the bit driver -- and pop it out. And replacing bits is just as easy. Just press a new one into position and you're good to go. There's even a spare bit located in the handle side opposite the knife blade. This tool includes the following bits: Phillips #1 and #2, screwdriver 3/16-inch and 1/4-inch.
In the plier jaws you'll find a hard-wire cutter and a regular wire cutter. The regular wire cutter is great for softer grades of wire, but the hard-wire cutter is excellent for heavier jobs -- like cutting and bending fishhooks.

I've owned several Leatherman tools in the past and my biggest complaints was they're too heavy and bulky...When I opened this new skeletool, I was pleasantly surprised!It's super light and extremely sturdy!I took this bad boy out for a test run immediately (I've broken 2 of my previous Leathermans. I broke the handle of both of them while using the pliers function). ... Read More

Finally, Leatherman made a tool that has everything you need without all the crap you don't!The inter-changeable screwdriver bits stay in more securely than the original skeletool.It has a good quality knife and pliers.And, it fits perfectly in a flight suit knife pocket.Also, half the price on Amazon compared to REI.

There is little this tool can't do. I took it camping the other day and I used it constantly. The blade was super sharp, the bits worked nicely and the pliers had a nice solid feel, not too loose and not too tight. The key thing to remember is this is a multitool and a jack of all trades is a master of none. My buck knife is a much better knife but its bigger and heavier. This is a great all around general tool for light work. The bit add on kit might really extend the range of this device.

I use this thing every day! I LOVE it, you can't imagine how often you use it until you actually own one.The tool is sooo solid, I promise you'll like it, and if you don't well you haven't owned it long enough and/or you don't keep it on you all the time.

I bought the Skeletool CX because I've always carried a pocket knife, and the other larger leatherman multitools have to be carried outside the pocket in a sheath. This tool is almost as easy to use as a one bladed pocket knife, with a flick of an index finger to open the blade. The tool is getting easier to open the pliers as I need to use them quite often.
I've had no problems with the driver bit falling out of the tool, as has been written about in previous reviews.
