- An unbelievable phone
I don't understand what the problem is with some of the comenters.
I bought the ooma phone because the service from Verizon was awful.
I was paying for a private number and they put my number and address in the phone book. Now that is bad service. I was paying $79.80 per month for Verizon's terrible service.I live alone and so not talk much plus I have a cel phone.
The ooma is great, after 31/2 months it will be paid for, that will be next month.

- Set Up Easy, Call Quality Excellent
Activated ooma 2 days ago.Configured behind a router (rather than their preferred configuration) since I have a work VPN which doesn't always work when something is in front of the router.Sign-up is quick enough, there was a phone number in my area (I chose not to port) and physical set up was extremely easy (plug it in to electricity, plug it into the router, plug the phone in to the ooma box). Can't speak to configurations such as using it with a regular phone line or plugging it into a whole ... Ok,
The good first. The service works as advertised and the call quality is very good. I can even hook up my fax macine, which is something MagicJack could not do..I give then 4 stars here
Now the not so good to down-rught bad:
So I bought Ooma from Costco on-line (Sorry Amazon the deal was too good to pass up) in March 2009 with free 6 months of the premiere service. I tried calling them the day of the install as I had a couple of questions. All I got for ... Read More
