- A most impressive mp3 video player
Cowon A3 has all the features that I could imagine and more. I plays a dozen audio and video formats, is able to receive FM radio, has speakers, has a microphone and can record audio, allows one to view pictures and read documents. There is also an optioned called Mobile TV but I haven't figured out what to do with it yet or how to get it to work. The setting menu for mobile TV only has options in Japanese (I think). There is a joy stick instead of individual buttons that make it easier to move around. ... Read More

- Still rockin' the divx after a year!
I could write a few pages on this player, but I'll keep it short. This is a portable video player for those who don't want to waste all their time transcoding to iPod/Zune/whatever format. Drag and drop. My personal use includes:
~playing divx/xvid movies: several hundred played, only a few with trouble. I usually keep 30+ movies on the A3 at a time to choose from.
~playing wma, mp4, m4v, mpg: a ton of youtube clips played
~playing mp3: If you want to play DRM files...nevermind. ... Read More

The GOOD
The awesome screen resolution and great colors and the ability to play almost any movie or music format. The control wasn't as bad as some people claim the joystick handles I did not mind it at all got used to it in a very short time. The sound thru headphones A+, thru internal speakers I would give it and 9 out of 10 Very decent for those tiny little speakers unlike the junk ones on an IPod touch. The connections to the TV a little eccentric since you have to use separate cables (included) ... - Bad outweighed the good
A big disappointment.I was so surprised when I received this as a gift. But after I plugged it in it was all downhill.
First of all, it kept rebooting itself when I was trying to get it hooked up to my computer.Because of this, it took me at least a half an hour just to get all the drivers loaded.
Finally, I transferred some music, excellent, no issues. Then I tried to do movies.
After I unsuccessfully tried to load the digital copies of The Dark Knight, Stepbrothers, ... Read More

- Unit quits after a month
There were problems inputting movies through the AV inputs. I had to reset it once to get it to work. Now, after uploading some music files I came back later to find a hot unit and white screen with the USB connection lost. When I disconnected from the USB it quit and nothing brings it to life again: whether I used the on/off button, reset, reconnection to USB (assuming the battery to be dead). This particular unit does not live up to the advertised functionality (AV analog movie making - the connection was erratic ... Read More
