With the GZ-MG330R Everio Hard Drive Camcorder you can record all the stuff that makes life more fun. Everio has been redesigned to offer more satisfaction in a smaller, lighter body. It's the world's smallest and lightest hard disk camcorder, so you can shoot actively without fatigue, and travel with lots of space left over when you pack your bags. The Everio models have been equipped with a high-performance lens developed by camera specialist, KONICA MINOLTA. It captures clear and bright images. Everio is equipped with an industry-leading 35x optical zoom for incredible magnification with full optical quality. Digital zoom takes you up to 800x. Internal high-capacity HDD allows extremely long recording times. With the 30GB model, you can store up to 37 hours of video. To safeguard Hard Disk Drive from shocks and vibrations, the Everio has a Floating Suspension System that effectively dampens vibrations through polymer shock absorbers. You can choose the picture quality from four modes, from high-quality video equivalent to DVD Movie to small-sized clip ideal for uploading to the Web. In addition to a built-in hard disk drive, Everio also has a slot for microSD Card so you can store videos and stills on this commonly available memory card (optional). Pros:
1. Very excellent recorded files
2. Compact good design.
3. 30 GB is enough for more than 7 hours of ultra high quality recorded files.
Cons:
1. Doesn't have night recording
2. You can't capture good still images at all because it is VERY sensitive to hands vibrations.
3. You may need to purchase an additional battery with extended power because it runs out of juice in no time (<1 hour).

Easy to use with good professional quality videos.The still shots are not as good as a digital camera designed solely for that use. It really is a video camera.Hard to keep stills in focus when lighting is not the greatest.Comes with a software program easy to use and well designed for handling creating with your videos and still shots.Liked it so much...I bought this one for my son-in law who loved using mine for videos.

Love the hard drive camera. Has a lot of good features. Quality is generally OK, the zoom is nice.
However, it's all ruined by the fact that the camera saves the files in .MOD/.MOI format. This makes it a huge pain to try and put together a movie from all the clips using either Windows Movie Maker or, for example, Adobe Premiere Elements. Both of them crash when trying to deal with these files, when clearly they shouldn't.
JVC really bombed by using this format. If not for that ... Read More

I bought this camera to make home videos of my kids.I am not at all a professional videographer but the image quality of this camera leaves a lot to be desired, very grainy even in adequate lighting.The camera is very small and sleek, LCD screen very clear but the images on my computer were not, which is way more important.You get what you pay for with this camera.I returned it and bought a mini dv camcorder, much better quality.I think you would have to pay a lot more money for a hard drive camera ...
