Rating: - Installation Difficult
I have owned Mac's with OS X for many years - I have never had an application so difficult to install.I'm sure if I played with it long enough maybe I could get it to work.The instructions are not clear and once you figure out how to install photoshop elements 6 for the Mac, then the installation freezes half way thru!!I tried to install on a new MacBook 13 inch Aluminum with Leopard 10.5.7

I'm trying really hard to catch up on a backlog of thousands of old vacation photos.I figured going x86 native with Elements 6 would speed things up.I didn't last 10 minutes using it.The new GUI is dark grey on grey with wildly colored trim and vivid cartoony icons.The ugliness surrounds the whole screen and it constantly expands the useless "Palette Bin" over my photos over and over again.There's not much room left for, you know, editing photos.

Rating: - Photoshop rocks!
I acquired Photoshop Elements 6 in order to save and improve old family photographs.Even without any training and only a little fooling around, I am very pleased with my results so far.Having these old photos on disc means some peace of mind in case of disaster.Finding individual photos couldn't be easier. Imagine what I can do once I actually take the time to study!

I replaced an earlier version of Elements wit this one.I found it to be satisfactory.However, the installation was more difficult because the instructions were somewhat lacking.
Rating: - Buggy to the point of being unusable
Adobe Elements 6 for the Mac is buggy and unusable. I would not recommend it to anyone, no matter how tempted you are to buy it because of the name. I think even Gimp would be less torturous to use. There are so many bugs it's hard to know where to start. Many, many features have bugs or usability problems. I even had trouble getting the About box to go away after I opened to double-check the version for this review. The updater is also broken. It repeatedly prompts to install the raw camera update, ...
