- Very disappointed
I had an earlier version of Mavis Teaches Typing which was misplaced. Then I purchased the newer Platinum 20. I like the new format but the lessons are out of sequence. I wrote the company about this but never received an answer. This is a lousy product for a beginner since it is obvious the product was never checked by anyone competent. DO NOT BUY THIS VERSION!!!

This Mavis Beacon program is a perfect example of FALSE ADVERTISING. I bought this program because it said on the product that I could learn to type in Spanish and that it had games with multiple levels of play, which I wanted to keep my kids(12,12, and 14) engaged in learning to type. The instructions for Spanish is only in English, so a Spanish-only speaker would be totally lost. There are NO MULTIPLE level games - not one.

I knew this would teach me to type, but at 32 years old I thought it would take me a long time to learn to type without looking. I went from 0-40 in a week and a half. I think that's fast.

I have been typing for many years, and have know the basics of touch typing, although I have not been able to apply them; so I have been unable to type without looking at the keyboard. One obvious problem with this being that I would not notice mistakes until long after they were made. So I finally decided to do something about it; Mavis Beacon to the rescue!
