- Excellent game, poor shipping methods
Shipping on this item took entirely too long. The games are an excellent set of games and I would reccomend these games to anyone who enjoys spys, espionage, gunfire, a good story line, and stealth.
Rating: - Essential indeed
It is nice to have all three games in one set.The only drawback I would say is that the games do not come with all of the extras (subsistence especially).Buying all three games separately would be just as good or better I guess.But the price is right and good to add to any collection (assuming you don't own any of these yet).

After playing Metal Gear Solid 4 on PS3, I read about someone who went back and played the whole Play Station Metal Gear set and thought it would be interesting. It is very cool despite some of the primative graphics to play the games and locations referenced and sometimes played in the MGS4 game. I'm sure this will lead me to play MGS4 again with a greater appreciation for the whole story.

Literally, this is the best series EVER. The first one is the best of course even though i had to go get a psx memory card lol. I had this WAY back in the day and im really glad i re-bought the series. Im still on the first one but im going to beat the whole series this time. Im in love.

- Why no second disc to subsistence?
The games are great, no doubt, but if you're going to put out a product called the "essential collection" and included in one of the original games (or rerelease I should say) was the first two games of the entire series, you know, the ones that started it all, and you don't include them... Ooooh, boy.
But this collection is great fun, filled with three (should be five) of the best games ever made, and an incredible bargain.
