I purchased the Breville 2 slice toaster after several months of being very happy with the Breville Ikon Blender and the Breville Smart Convection Oven. I was actually planning to buy the toaster for a long time and did not even know that this toaster has an "elevator". I have owned several toasters and they were just toasters. i just got this product from amazon in less than 2 weeks.when it got to me, i was surprised at the bulkiness of it, even though i was only getting a 2-sliced version.i would have liked it to be a little slimmer. i started using it right away and did notice the unevenness in results as mentioned by a few other reviewers.i tried to look past all of these but today my defrost light stopped working.the light would not come on.i don't know if its just the light or that the entire defrost feature ... I bought this toaster in December but waited until now to review it. I wanted to be sure it wasn't a silly crush! It wasn't - I'm in love!This Breville is oh so pretty and so fun to use.Four months later it's still working beautifully (the toast is toasted evenly on both side every time) and I haven't found any wonky bits that make me regret the purchase.
Besides the even toasting, I really appreciate the futuristic blinking lights that tell me how many minutes are left to toast. This ... Read More

I have to admit that the blinking buttons and smooth automated action are very cool to watch. But it all amounts to nothing if the product does not execute its primary function well. Maybe I just got a lemon, but my breville turns the top of the toast black while leaving the bottom cold. Absolute rubbish.
